Padma Shri Awardee Dr. P. K. Sethi is an extremely renowned Neurologist of India. He attained his MBBS and MD Degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He took specialized training in Neurology for two years under the State University of New York at Buffalo. Since 1973, he has been practicing as a Neurologist and Head of Department – Neurology across various distinguished hospitals such as Command Hospital (Lucknow), Command Hospital (Calcutta) Army Hospital (Delhi), Vidya Sagar Institute of Health and Neuro Sciences (New Delhi), and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi). He introduced the concepts of Alstrome like Syndrome, Histopathology of Facial Myokymia, Quiritian Epilepsy, Cephalgic Seizure and many more. Dr. Sethi’s outstanding contribution has won him many awards and accolades. He has been felicitated with the Padma Shri Award, Vishist Seva Medal, Gen Amir Chand Award, Life Time Achievement Award by NEUCON, and Life Time Achievement Award by DNA. He also holds key memberships of societies such as Neurological Society of India, American Academy of Neurology, Association of Physicians of India, Royal Society of Health at London, Indian Epilepsy Association, and Indian Epilepsy Society. He is the esteemed President of Indian Epilepsy Trust and 18th International Epilepsy Congress. He has attained Fellowship of Academic Bodies such as the International College of Angiology (USA), International Academy of Medical Sciences, and International Medical Sciences Academy. He is also the Founder Fellow of Indian Academy of Neurology. He has been the Physician of the Honorary President of India. He has 110 publications in national and international journals. Presently he is practicing as an Emeritus Consultant and Advisor - Neurology, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
